T.Rex – “The Motivator”
Sometimes, when I am listening to Electric Warrior I like to play a game called, “Marc Bolan what were you on, when you wrote this song?” This song consistently confounds me in that game.
An interesting variant of that game entitled “Marc Bolan, what were you doing prior to writing this song?” also confounds.
It’s got a more subdued version of the riff from “Bang A Gong (Get It On),” stripped down production that lets the percussion shine, velvet hats, golden cats, and rudimentary rhyme scemes…
